12 Jan How A Social Worker Deals with Sensitive Clients with a Virtual Office
As a Registered Social Worker, Karen has been in practice for the past 24 years. Her experience includes 16 years of working at a children’s mental health centre in Toronto, specializing in adolescent mental health and developmental disability.
Many of Karen’s cases deal with highly sensitive matters and at any, and all, phases of the business, her clients need to be provided the utmost convenience and care. Karen’s relationship with Skytek has grown over the course of 5 years, and it was built off more than just the exceptional service Skytek provides to her clients.
SPUR OF THE MOMENT
Karen Guthrie-Douse is a Registered Social Worker specializing in custody and access, separation and divorce, parenting, and blended family issues. Initially, Karen started off at Markham Executive Suites (MES) where she held a virtual office combination similar to Skytek’s Mail Plan and hourly office rentals. Although running a business at MES wasn’t exactly how she wanted it:
“They were always mixing up my bill. Because of the nature of my business, I work with a lot of lawyers and I’d get bills and invoices at the end of the month for other people’s office rentals. I’d be wasting my time proving that the rental hours were not mine.”
She goes on to further mention:
“It was the smaller details that added up. I had to pay extra in advance for coffee and tea for my clients. I needed a place where people felt comfortable and relaxed when they are talking about something very personal to them. I inevitably left MES. A Virtual Office needed to be the easiest part of my business not the hardest. Luckily, I found that with Skytek.”
Karen found Skytek through a simple Google search and immediately booked a tour. Little did she know that her relationship with Skytek would now be going on 5 years strong. One of her biggest considerations when transitioning office locations was to buy an office space rather than rent hourly. Granted, the nature of her business was highly dependent on client needs and her law partners, one of which currently occupies a Skytek Executive Suite, she needed flexibility over anything else. Her time is equally spent at a home office and the office of her law partners and as such, continuing with a Virtual Office was the best solution.
“Skytek makes it easy. Parking is easy, location is good, there is plenty of coffee and tea, and most importantly, my clients are always treated with respect by reception/virtual assistant. I don’t want to step out of a meeting just to photocopy something, my virtual assistant helps tremendously with the administrative. Skytek always makes sure that I am represented professionally in front of my clients.”
FIVE YEARS STRONG
Many of Karen’s cases deal with highly sensitive matters and at any, and all, phases of the business, her clients need to be provided the utmost convenience and care. Karen’s relationship with Skytek has grown over the course of 5 years, and it was built off more than just the exceptional service Skytek provides to her clients:
“The price is reasonable and the location is conveniently next to major highways. My clients may be nervous or stressed with their own situation, and they need not to worry about details like parking. Booking meeting rooms through the online portal makes it convenient for me to schedule on-call appointments without having to phone into a secretary.”
